Mindrum
A magical combination of rose gardens, lawns, woods and water, Mindrum Garden has evolved significantly since it was first laid out in the 1930s.
Mindrum is located in Northumberland, on the northern edge of the Cheviot hills where the Bowmont Water emerges from the hills and skirts the tweed valley before curling east around the northern edge of the Cheviot Massif to join the College Burn and become the River Glen. Though the name is derived from the old English term for "mountain ridge", the ridge is more hill than mountain, but it does provide a sheltered valley with south facing slopes and it is here that Ginny and Pery Fairfax have created their beautiful gardens
A combination of woodland walks, lawns, rose gardens and rockeries give a combination of privacy and scope as one moves from one area to another.
The Gardens are open to the public three times a year (see the diary) and also by arrangement for private tours.
